Llechwedd Slate Caverns

Llechwedd Slate Caverns offer two tour options: the Miners Tramway where you will board a train in the original slate slabbing mill and ride into an 1846 tunnel via the side of the mountain. This journey remains on the level and tranverses some spectacular caverns. On the Deep Mine tour, descend on Britain´s steepest passenger railway in a specially made 24-seat car on a 3ft gauge track. Stroll through Llechwedd Village, one of two residential communities which grew during the Victorian workings of the mine. The last residents eft suring the 1970´s. Wedding Services underground are also available to make your Special Day even more memorable!
