Summerlee Industrial Museum
Summerlee Industrial Museum's 22 acres are based around the site of the 19th century Summerlee Ironworks and a branch of the Monklands canal. Features are: Scotland´s only electric tramway; A huge exhibition hall with working machinery and period room settings; Re-created addit mine and miner´s cottages. Summerlee has now reopened after a two-year shutdown for a £10m Heritage Lottery Fund supported redevelopment. See the fully refurbished exhibition hall with new interactive displays and hands-on activities. There is also a brand new cafe and shop within the main hall.
