Edinburgh Zoo was opened to the public on 22 July 1913, and was incorporated by Royal Charter later that year. The largest and most exciting wildlife attraction in Scotland, committed to the highest standards of animal welfare, conservation and environmental education. In just one day, you can meet over 1,000 wonderful animals, in the beautiful parkland setting on the outskirts of Edinburgh. You can also enjoy a wide range of visitor facilities, from free Hilltop Safari rides to the top of the hill, children´s play areas, restaurants, gift shops and masses of events and activities throughout the year.

Location: 3 miles west of the city centre on the A8 road towards Glasgow. From the south, take the city by-pass following signs for Edinburgh north and west, the city centre. From the north, follow signs for city centre. The entrance to the car park is between the Zoo and the Holiday Inn.
