Sussex Archaeological Society


Sussex Archaeological Society, or Sussex Past for short, has several fascinating properties open to the to the public, including Anne of Cleves House, Fishbourne Roman Palace, Lewes Castle, Marlipins Museum, Michelham Priory, The Long Man of Wilmington and the The Priest House. The Society, which has been around since 1846, is a Registered Charity and exists to promote the study and enjoyment of archaeology and history in the counties of East and West Sussex, UK. Committed to the principles of Sustainable Tourism, wherever there are historic properties, they strive to be informative, support the integrity of the place, benefit local residents, conserve resources, respect local culture and provide a quality experience for the visitor. Sussex Past has a variety of educational services at Fishbourne Roman Palace, Michelham Priory and at its Lewes properties.
