Norfolk Broads

The Norfolk and Suffolk Broads is a unique area of water, grazing marshes, fen and woodland, and home to some of the rarest plants and creatures in the UK. It is Britain´s largest protected wetland, having similar status to a national park. The Broads Authority was set up in 1989 to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Broads, promote the enjoyment of the Broads and protect the interests of navigation. The Broads is also one of Europe´s most popular inland waterways. Once an essential transport network, today the waterways are used for recreation, attracting more than a million visitors a year.
