Lift a mini, make fire the basic way, inflate a hot air balloon and move a rock!
The Snibston colliery tours enable visitors to get a real perspective on what it was like to work underground. Local, former miners will provide a guided tour around the scheduled colliery buildings and give an insight into their experiences. You’ll be amazed at the stories they have to tell.*
Snibston is also the home to one of the oldest working railways in the country and visitors can enjoy a ride along the 1km long track on PITT the colliery engine. It’s a great opportunity to appreciate the unique nature of this 180-year old site.*
For nature lovers there is the Snibston Country Park, adjacent to the museum. Home to wildlife and a variety of plants, trees and flowers, it is the perfect venue for a stroll or picnic.
