Bosworth Battlefield Visitor Centre & Country Park

With the remains of Richard III being discovered under a Leicester car park, the Bosworth Battlefield where he lived his last moments has never seemed more relevant. The visitor centre and country park tells you all you will ever need to know about the battle of the War of the Roses where Richard fought in vain and lost his crown to the future Henry VII. There are interactive displays taking you on a journey through medieval Britain and a Battle Room which bears witness to the horrors of warfare in the period. Follow the stories of four citizens who lived through the perilous period and see how good you’d be as an archer. We like the bit where you get to try on some armour too – it wasn’t easy fighting in all that clobber! The outside circuit walk giving you a minute-by-minute account of the battle is immensely informative too.
