Leeds Castle really knows how to put on a show. Granted, it's got a head start with 900 years of history and 500 acres of gorgeous Kentish landscaped grounds to show off about, but they don’t rest on their laurels here. After you’ve toured the castle inside, there’s the Black Swan ferry boat (which takes you to the maze and play area) and Elsie the Castle Train to have a ride on, the wood garden that provides a riot of colour throughout the year and is teeming with wildlife and waterfowl – including the famous black swans. The pretty Pavilion Gardens are also great for sitting and drinking a civilised glass of chilled white on a blanket, the blazing rhododendrons and azaleas providing your backdrop. They also lay on lots of seasonal events such as jousting tournaments, flower festivals and Easter egg hunts.

Top Ten Easter Attractions for Families by Kathryn Miller

"Pretending to be a medieval knight is just part of the fun for youngsters on a trip to 900-year-old Leeds Castle. After looking around the castle, get lost in the maze, ride on the mini train or run about in the woodland. This Easter there’s a Treasure Hunt – the top prize, is a gold sovereign that’s worth more than £250, though children can play an easier version to win gold chocolate coins. Easter activities from March 29 to April 1 2013."
