Paignton Zoo

Paignton Zoo Environmental Park is one of Britain’s leading zoos. Visit the 80 acre site and you’ll see all your favourites such as lion, tiger, gorilla, orang-utan, flamingo, elephant and giraffe, as well as some more unusual species such as red river hog, Dalmatian pelican and lemur. It’s a whole world of wonder and surprise in one day. In the last few years several big new exhibits have been built, including Monkey Heights and Crocodile Swamp. Amphibian Ark is Paignton Zoo’s contribution to an international conservation initiative and aims to help save several entire species of frogs and toads. So what else is there to see at Paignton Zoo? As well as close encounters with some amazing animals, children can look forward to the miniature railway and the indoor and outdoor play areas. Call in at the Island Restaurant for a meal with a great view of Gibbon Island. Kiosks and snack bars provide takeaway meals and ice creams around the park.
