People from all over the world collect Royal Crown Derby so it’s not surprising that its visitor centre attracts an international following. Tours of the factory reveal the traditions, history and skills that go into producing the intricately designed tableware and gifts while a museum on the site tells the fascinating story of how Royal Crown Derby progressed from a small enterprise into an internationally admired business. The company traces its origins back to 1750 when its factory was in the town’s Nottingham Road. Some 140 years on, Queen Victoria granted permission for the company to use the world royal and ever since the range of figures, giftware, tableware and collectables has flourished. Highlights include the Raven Room Collection incorporating works of most renowned artists. Factory tours are available Tuesdays to Fridays at 11am and 1.30pm.

Opening Times: Mon to Sat, 10:00-17:00. Refer to website for holiday opening. Factory Tour - Tue 11:00-13:30.
