The Minack Theatre’s spectacular open-air setting, cut into the cliffside at Porthcurno near Penzance, is something of a shock. It feels like you have stumbled across an ancient Roman amphitheatre rather than a thoroughly British-made endeavour. The theatre, planned and built by the formidable Rowena Cade in 1931, is startling impressive, its seating created from a series of steep stone terraces, its stage a small area behind which rages the mighty Atlantic. You can come and see a drama, a musical or an opera here (check the website for performances) which is a truly magical experience (especially at night when the twinkling lights create a fairy tale atmosphere) or simply have a potter around, see the sub-tropical gardens and learn more about the remarkable Rowena Cade.

Opening Times: Daytime Visitors: All year, Apr-Oct 09:30-17:30, Nov-Easter 10:00-16:00. Please check our website for days and time of our evening performances.
Admission: Daytime: Adult £4.00, Child under 16 £2.00, Child under 12 Free, Senior Citizen £3.00.
Dog Friendly: Dogs Permitted (Except at a performance)
Location: Located at the extreme west of the UK, 20 minutes from Penzance, 15 minutes from Mousehole and 10 minutes from Lands End.
Facilities: Limited Disabled Access, Parking Availability, Refreshments, Shop
