Cutty Sark Trust
The Cutty Sark was built in 1869 to be the fastest clipper in the annual race to bring the first of the season´s crop of tea home to Britain. She is the world´s sole surviving tea clipper, and since being opened to the public in 1957, has welcomed over 15 million visitors across her gangplank. The new children´s interpretive panels give the same information but in a fun and colourful way. The souvenir shop is also on deck. The Main Deck houses the crew and officers´ accommodation, restored to 1870s condition - a real insight to life on board a Victorian tea clipper. CLOSED FOR CONSERVATION WORK UNTIL EARLY 2012.
