Westminster Abbey, an architectural masterpiece of the 13th-16th centuries. A place of daily worship and burial place of Kings, statesmen, poets, scientists, warriors and musicians. Westminster Abbey is a `Royal Peculiar´ under the jurisdiction of a Dean and Chapter, subject only to the Sovereign. Special services representing a wide spread of interests and social concerns are held here on a regular basis. In 1965-66 the Abbey celebrated its 900th anniversary and over the centuries through its long history has become known throughout the world.
