St Paul´s Cathedral

There has never been a better time to visit St Paul´s. With the completion of the £40 million restoration project, visitors can now enjoy Wren’s original vision and see the cathedral as fresh as the day it was completed. The carvings, paintings, sculpture and mosaics radiate with life from the natural light that now floods in to the Cathedral. Gaze up at the beautiful paintings in the Dome before climbing the winding journey up the spiral staircase to test the unique acoustics of the Whispering Gallery. The pinnacle of any trip to St Paul´s is climbing up to the top of the Dome, which affords panoramic views of London that are second to none. Make your way underground and explore the cathedral’s foremost burial place. In the crypt lie some of the nation’s heroes including the cathedral’s architects Sir Christopher Wren as well as the magnificent tombs of Admiral Lord Nelson and the Duke of Wellington. All visitors are now offered the new multimedia guides free of charge; these are available in 11 different languages as well as BSL and an English language family version. Visitors can also enjoy Oculus – an eye into St Paul’s; the new 270° film experience that brings 1400 years of cathedral history to life.
