Overview

One of the most beautiful hotels in Cumbria, Farlam Hall is concealed in peaceful countryside outside the town of Brampton. Set in 10 acres of idyllic countryside featuring a stream, walled garden and ornamental pond, the Hall has been beautifully refurbished to a high standard. Each bedroom is individually decorated, with elegant fittings, ultra-modern bathrooms and relaxing views of the gardens. The hotel also has six luxury Stable Suites in the grounds, accomodating two to six people.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Michelin starred restaurant, The Cedar Tree by Hrishikesh Desai, is on site and open Wednesday to Saturday evenings. Bistro Enkel, serving more classic, uncomplicated dishes, is open for dinner Sundays to Tuesdays. 

A delicious breakfast is served at the hotel and guests can choose from full English and a continental option in the award-winning restaurant serving food grown in the hotel grounds.

If guests wish to venture into the local villages there are a number of wonderful pubs to choose from. Further afield in Carlisle there is a range of high street and independent restaurants to choose from.

Car:

Farlam Hall Hotel is situated 12.5 miles South East of Carlisle on the A689 Brampton to Alston road. 

The main North/South Motorway, the M6 is only 10 miles to Junction 44 if traveling North or Junction 43 if traveling South. It is a 15 to 20 minutes’ drive to either junction.

On leaving the M6 follow signs to Newcastle along the A69 and on arriving at Brampton take a right turn along the A689 signposted Alston and Hallbankgate.  Follow the road over the level crossing and Farlam Hall is a mile ahead on the left handside. 

If travelling from Newcastle follow the A69 towards Carlisle and on reaching Brampton turn left on to the A689 and follow directions above.

The property has onsite parking with an electric charging point as well as having a helipad within the grounds 

Train:

Carlisle Station is 13 miles away and served by the Avanti West Coast line from London Euston. Times now are approximately 3.5 to 4.00 hours. Taxis are available outside the station.

Brampton Junction is on the Carlisle to Newcastle line and is only 1.5 miles away but has limited services. If you do choose to arrive this way please let the hotel know in advance as the station is just a halt with no staff, telephone or taxis.

Airports: Carlisle. 15 minutes. 5 miles.(For private aircraft and helicopters) Edinburgh 2hrs. 100 miles. Glasgow 2 hrs. 100 miles. Manchester 2.5 hrs. 140 miles. Newcastle 50 minutes. 40 miles. London Heathrow 6hrs. 325 miles.

Helicopter:

There is a helipad available on site and free landing in the walled garden on site is available. If you wish to use this facility the hotel must know in advance for advice on local procedures.
